In a major initiative to broaden educational prospects for international students, Study In UK has forged partnerships with more than 100 esteemed universities in the United Kingdom.

These collaborations feature prominent universities with high global rankings, including prestigious institutions like University College London, King’s College London, and the University of St Andrews.

This network encompasses a variety of institutions, each with its distinctive strengths and approaches. For instance, the University of Winchester, known for its close-knit community and research excellence, utilizes SI-UK’s global reach to engage with exceptional international students.

“The SI-UK offices, from Nagpur to Tokyo and beyond, give my international team an opportunity to directly engage with some of the best students we see, and the formal events (fairs, training sessions etc) are everything we could wish for,” said David Street, Head of International Recruitment, University of Winchester.

Distinct requirements from UCL

UCL, a distinguished top-ranked university, adheres to a stringent approach in recruiting undergraduate students. UCL does not collaborate with external agents for the recruitment of undergraduate programs. Prospective students are encouraged to apply for undergraduate programs at UCL through the official UCL admissions portal, thereby upholding the highest academic standards.

Acknowledging the distinct requirements of graduate-taught programs, UCL has established a strategic partnership with SI-UK, with the collaboration aiming to attract the most highly qualified candidates for UCL’s MA, MSc, and LLM programs. The partnership with SI-UK commenced in March 2021.

Rob Grimshaw, CEO of SI-UK, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing their commitment to supporting international students in their academic endeavors in the UK. The objective is to enhance the accessibility and enriching experience of studying in the UK for students globally.

SI-UK India initiatives

SI-UK India is set to organize 10 UK University Fairs across India in January and February 2024, providing students with opportunities to explore and benefit from the increasing interest in studying in the UK.

The upcoming UK University Fairs organized by SI-UK India will feature more than 60 exhibitors, including prominent institutions like City, University of London; Imperial College London; University of Bath; Royal Holloway; Durham University; and King’s College London.

Remarkable surge

The UK Home Office has revealed a substantial 54 percent surge in sponsored study visas granted to Indian students compared to 2022 figures. This noteworthy increase highlights a significant inclination towards the UK as a favored destination for Indian students seeking higher education.

Gradding, a study abroad platform, conducted a comprehensive analysis and presentation of these findings.

The revealed numbers indicate a remarkable upswing, showcasing that Indian students now hold nearly seven times the number of study visas granted in 2019. More specifically, the UK issued approximately 500,000 sponsored study visas, with the noteworthy revelation that nearly one-third of these were allocated to Indian students.
