Qatar Finance and Business Academy has entered into a cooperative agreement with the Education Above All Foundation to create education opportunities for underprivileged students of both genders. The initiative is intended to enhance community partnerships and to increase the student body of QFBA, in alignment with its mission to expand access to high-quality education.

The agreement centers around offering scholarships through the Qatar scholarships program to enable these students to further their higher education at QFBA, in conjunction with Northumbria University. Both bachelor’s and master’s degree programs are included in the agreement.

The agreement was officially signed by QFBA CEO, Khalifa Al Salhi Al Yafei, and Talal Al Hudhal, director of the Al-Fakhura Program at EAA. This initiative forms part of QFBA’s ongoing efforts to reinforce its community alliances with various national institutions, boost enrolment, and ensure that students, regardless of their financial circumstances, can access quality education.

The joint venture is also a stepping stone towards providing 500 scholarships across Qatar, a project made possible through a collaboration with Qatar’s General Awqaf Authority.

Al Yafei expressed his hope that this agreement would facilitate greater cooperation with state institutions and invest in human potential, offering a lifeline to disadvantaged students who demonstrate academic aptitude but are hindered by financial barriers.

Al Hudhal highlighted that the partnership offers these students an opportunity to further their education and access quality learning. This aligns with the goals of sustainable development and contributes to the realization of Qatar’s national vision for 2030. He also extended his gratitude to Qatar’s General Awqaf Authority for facilitating opportunities for deserving young people to advance their studies and acquire the necessary skills to bolster their communities.

Under the terms of the agreement, scholarships will be awarded to students meeting certain criteria, permitting them to pursue their higher education at QFBA in partnership with Northumbria University. The scholarship duration is set based on the students’ academic plans.

Established in 2009, QFBA focuses on offering training and professional development programs for the financial sector in Qatar. It presents its members with a selection of accredited international certifications in finance and banking.
