France has unveiled plans to welcome 30,000 Indian students to its educational institutions by the year 2030.

The initiative is a pivotal part of France’s broader strategy to bolster its economic and cultural ties with India, the Times of India reported.

France is also set to establish “international classes” within its universities and colleges. These specialized classes will be conducted in English, aiming to ease the transition for Indian students into the French educational system.

The country is also extending a five-year Schengen visa to Indian students holding a master’s degree or higher, who have completed at least one semester of study in France. The visa will grant Indian students the privilege of unrestricted travel across the Schengen area, encompassing 26 European nations.

There will also be an expansion of the Campus France network in India with increased staffing and resources to support students pursuing education in France, and the upcoming Choose France Tour 2023, a nationwide tour visiting four major Indian cities.

The tour will kick off in Chennai on Oct. 8, before going through Calcutta on Oct. 11, Delhi on Oct. 13, and Mumbai on Oct. 15. It aims to provide a unique opportunity for students and parents to gain insights into French study options and directly engage with representatives from French universities.

France boasts a diverse array of academic disciplines and programs, ranging from culinary arts to hospitality management, from social sciences to art, design and more.

Graduates with French qualifications also benefit from numerous career opportunities, including the possibility of working with globally renowned organizations.
