The Canadian University of Bangladesh is offering a special admission fair with significant discounts and scholarships, targeting prospective students having difficulties with tuition and related expenses.

The university said that the fee for students with a Higher Secondary Certificate or A-Levels is Tk6,000 (Around $56), while those with a diploma will only have to pay Tk3,000 (Around $28) during the fair. Merit-based scholarships of up to 100 percent are also offered based on Secondary School Certificates and HSC results.

A full tuition waiver is also offered to students with a GPA of 5 in SSE and HSC combined, excluding the fourth subject.

If three or more students are admitted together, an additional 5 percent discount will be given as a “Group Waiver.”

Tuition for Master of Business Administration and Electrical and Electronics Engineering programs are reduced by 50 percent, and fees for Executive MBA programs are reduced by 60 percent. A 40 percent concession is available on tuition for admission to all subjects.

Shipping and Maritime Science, Bachelor of Business Administration, Computer Science & Engineering, EEE, Bachelor of Laws, English, and Media, Communication, and Journalism are among the bachelor’s degrees being offered by the university.

It also offers postgraduate degrees such as Masters in Maritime Transportation and Logistics, MBA, and Executive MBA. EEE, and CSE also provide admission opportunities for diploma holders.

The fair is being held at the university’s Pragati Sarani campus in Dhaka, making it convenient for students to visit and learn more about the different programs available. Moreover, the university provides admission opportunities for diploma holders in the EEE and CSE programs.

The Canadian University of Bangladesh has been operating since 2016. It aims to prepare students for successful careers by providing them with theoretical knowledge and practical skills that are relevant to their chosen fields.

As of November 2022, data from University Grants Commission (UGC) showed Bangladesh is seeing a gradual increase in international enrollment, with slightly more than 1,600 international students mostly from India, Nepal, Bhutan, and African countries currently studying at its universities, Arab News reported.
