India has recently surpassed China as the largest source of international students in Germany. There are currently 39,137 Chinese students enrolled in German universities.

The latest Open Doors Report, released by the Institute of International Education (IIE) and the Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, reported a total enrollment of 24,496 international students at the university.

Critics argue that legacy admissions have allowed a select group of individuals to bypass rigorous admissions standards, undermining the principles of meritocracy. Supporters of the legislation argue that ending this practice will pave the way for a more equitable admissions process that considers applicants solely on their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and other relevant factors.

The key findings of this research–led by the International Journal of Wellbeing and participated by 123 Chinese international students at an Australian post-secondary institution– named competence (22.50 percent), relationship support (21.25 percent), and mental-oriented (13.75 percent) themes as the main factors in boosting foreign students’ well-being. Other themes that surfaced from the interview-based study.
