Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be the fuel that transforms education across the globe in the next few years, leaders in the field of education technology agreed.

EdTech leaders and entrepreneurs gathered to share their insights and expertise in the realm of AI and education in the recently concluded International Exhibition of Educational Technology and Innovation, a three-day fair held at the Ifema Convention Center in Madrid.

Among the leaders who spoke during the event were Jose Antonio Sanchez, education head of video technology solutions provider Dahuha Ibreria, and Sol Garcia, director of consultancy EdTech service provider Samoo by Pentec,

“AI has brought about a revolution in the world of education because students have started using it before teachers,” said Sanchez.

Dahua Technology Iberia has designed a range of audiovisual equipment, security cameras, video-based AI solutions, and intelligent software, providing teachers with tools to seamlessly integrate technology into their educational projects.

Importance of AI for teachers and academic institutions

Garcia, meanwhile, noted the lasting presence of artificial intelligence in the educational process, highlighting its role in optimizing various aspects of academy-level delivery management.

He also emphasized the importance for teachers and academic institutions to recognize how AI can enhance quality and optimize processes in the field of education.

Samoo by Pentec specializes in implementing e-learning solutions, developing modules, and authoring tools for generating content and courses. They also offer chat technology capable of creating a 24/7 author with information specific to each institution.

An upward trend in AI and education

The 2020 EdTech Outlook Report from HolonIQ forecasted that the educational technology market will reach a value of $252 billion by 2025, with a compound annual growth rate of 17 percent. By 2020, global investments in educational technology startups had already reached a record $16.1 billion.

The symbiosis between artificial intelligence and education is on an upward trajectory, with the forthcoming years promising significant expansion of AI applications within this sector, according to a report by think tank Technavio.

In its report titled “Artificial Intelligence Market In The Education Sector Market 2023-2027,” Technavio also noted that the increase underscores the rising importance of integrating AI into the educational landscape to boost learning outcomes.

Over the next five years, the study projected a net increase of $1,100.07 million by 2027 due to AI in the education market, setting the stage for revolutionary changes.

These robust growth estimates suggest a compound annual growth rate of 41.14 percent within the forecast period, reflecting the rapidly accelerating pace of AI adoption in this sector.
