The Inspired Education Group’s pilot program integrating artificial intelligence technology into teaching has resulted in a significant improvement in student performance, equivalent to raising an entire grade boundary.

The program, implemented across five major international schools, has demonstrated improvement in student performance, with participants achieving an average increase in scores of 8.12 percentage points, the FE News reported.

The analysis, which turns the spotlight on AI in education, showcases a remarkable endorsement of the potential for AI to revolutionize the learning experience.

At least 84.5 percent of students reported enhanced learning and progression through the use of Inspired AI, while an overwhelming 80.2 percent of participating teachers recommended Inspired AI as an invaluable tool for education.

Additional insights from the study revealed that an impressive 85.3 percent of students endorsed Inspired AI as an excellent learning tool, while more than two-thirds of teachers recognized its positive impact on lesson planning.

The Inspired AI platform harnesses the power of AI to tailor “pathways” for students in both classwork and homework. It utilizes real-time analytics and recommendations for teachers and parents, beginning with diagnostic testing, to identify individual strengths and weaknesses.

Based on this assessment, it creates customized exercises and modules across subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Science.

The pioneering pilot program, spanning 26 schools in 12 countries including the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Bahrain, The Bahamas, Latvia, Portugal, Switzerland, Vietnam, Kenya, Panama, and Belgium, engaged with more than 14,000 students.

The success of Inspired AI was corroborated through quantitative data collected from select leading schools, including Fulham School in London, the British School of Bahrain in Hamala, King’s College Soto in Madrid, King’s College Bahamas, and The International School of Europe in Monza, Milan.

Notably, quantitative measurements showed that students across these five schools exhibited the most significant performance improvement in biology (10.6 percent) and chemistry (9.4 percent).

Nadim Nsouli, founder, chairman and CEO of Inspired Education Group, spoke of the value of personalized education in both physical classrooms and remote learning.

“Whether it be physically in classrooms, or through digital and remote schooling, it’s clear that the future of education will be increasingly personalized, and that technologies such as AI will be key in helping to ensure students can flourish and reach their full potential,” he said.

Educational technology is evolving, and we are determined to remain at the cutting edge of this innovation,” he added.

Inspired AI, according to Nsouli, empowers world-leading teachers by tailoring their teaching methods to each student, offering deeper insights into student understanding and streamlining time-consuming tasks such as grading.

Nsouli also said that the Inspired AI platform serves three primary functions in everyday classroom use, including intelligently personalizing learning experiences for students, reducing teachers’ workload, particularly in grading, analysis, and resource creation, and providing actionable insights into individual students’ understanding and skills while flagging interventions where necessary to enhance teaching.
