Learnovate Centre and AWS launch edtech accelerator programme for start-ups

The Learnovate Centre and Amazon Web Services announced a 12-week edtech accelerator programme, offering mentoring, AWS credits, and a chance to win $100,000 in AWS products.

Dublin-based Learnovate Centre and AWS have today launched their new edtech accelerator programme aimed at early-stage learning technology start-ups. The 12-week initiative, in collaboration with Trinity College Dublin’s Learnovate Centre, offers mentoring by industry experts and AWS cloud computing credits.

Ten spots are available in the programme, which focuses on startups developing digital educational solutions. Selected participants will receive $2,000 in AWS cloud computing credits, applicable across areas such as computing power, database storage, and content delivery.

In addition, the participants will benefit from six full-day workshops conducted at AWS offices in Ballsbridge, Dublin. These workshops will be led by experts in the fields of learning, business, and technology. Successful applicants will also gain complimentary access to certified AWS training programs.

Incentive to innovate

The programme culminates in a Demo Day showcase where participants present their solutions. A panel consisting of Learnovate, AWS, and industry judges will choose a winner, who will receive $100,000 in AWS credits.

The application deadline for the edtech accelerator programme is Nov. 9, with the programme itself running from Dec. 5. through Feb. 20, 2024. Interested startups can apply via the Learnovate Centre’s website.

The edtech accelerator programme aims to offer comprehensive business mentoring, technical guidance on cloud scaling, and insights into regulatory, data privacy, and cybersecurity issues. Expertise on topics such as pilot studies, public procurement, and investor readiness will also be available.
