Recognizing the mutual benefits of such collaboration, the United States has launched an initiative aligned with NEP 2020 to provide Indian students with unique educational opportunities.
The core vision of NEP 2020 revolves around the concept of internationalization of Indian education. This involves promoting research collaborations, facilitating faculty and student exchanges, and signing mutually beneficial agreements with foreign countries.
High-performing Indian universities are encouraged to expand globally, while top-ranked global universities are invited to establish campuses in India. The bidirectional flow aims to enhance the quality and diversity of education available in India.
Central to NEP 2020 is the recognition of credits from foreign universities, enabling Indian students to pursue dual degrees. This aspect is crucial as it allows for the seamless integration of international educational experiences into the Indian academic framework.

The United States has responded enthusiastically to India’s educational overhaul. A specialized educational initiative, set to commence in fall 2024, will offer Indian students the opportunity to pursue one-year professional master’s degrees in the United States. Concentrating on STEM fields, these programs are tailored to provide industrial specialization at prestigious American universities.

Indian students will be allowed to stay in the US for up to three years post-completion, enabling them to gain industry experience and manage student loans effectively.
