Applications for the 2024-25 Chevening Türkiye Awards are now open.

These scholarships, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and various partner organizations, are part of the United Kingdom government’s global leadership development initiative.

Scholarship benefits
Türkiye residents aspiring to be future leaders can apply and benefit from coverage including tuition fees, airfare, living allowance, and more.

Chevening scholarships offer comprehensive financial support, enabling recipients to focus on their academic endeavors while experiencing a transformative year in the UK.

During their stay, scholars will not only enhance their professional and academic skills but also establish valuable networks, immerse themselves in British culture, and foster lasting relationships while in the UK.

Key benefits of Chevening Awards in Türkiye include coverage of university tuition fees (with a maximum limit for MBA programs), round-trip economy-class airfare, visa entry clearance expenses, a monthly living allowance (stipend), and additional grants to cover essential costs.

Eligibility and application process
To qualify for a Chevening scholarship, applicants must meet specific criteria.

These include citizenship in a Chevening-eligible country, a commitment to returning home for two years after completing the award, possession of an undergraduate degree meeting UK postgraduate entry requirements by the application deadline, a minimum of two years of work experience, and securing an unconditional offer from one of three eligible UK university courses by July 11, 2024, while fulfilling all university requirements, including English language proficiency, by the Chevening application deadline.

Ineligible candidates include those who hold British or dual British citizenship (with exceptions for certain categories), individuals with refugee status in non-Chevening eligible countries, current or former employees, or relatives of employees of specific government bodies, the British Council, sponsoring UK universities, or the Association of Commonwealth Universities within the two years preceding the Chevening application opening.

Applicants who have previously received funding for studies in the UK from a UK government-funded scholarship may also be ineligible.

Possessing a master’s degree does not preclude candidates from applying for a Chevening Award to pursue a second master’s degree in the UK, provided they can clearly articulate how it aligns with their career plan to drive positive change in their home country.

To apply for a Chevening Award, all applicants must use the designated online application system accessible at www.chevening.org.

Chevening scholarship applications for Türkiye will close on November 7 at 12:00 GMT (midday UK time).
