Test takers of the International English Language Testing System applying for Canadian study permits under the Student Direct Stream category will no longer need to achieve a minimum score of 6.0 bands in all individual sections of the test starting from August 10, IDP Education, co-owner of the IELTS, announced.

IDP Education also cited the advantages of choosing IELTS, including its extensive network of test centers and the flexibility it provides to candidates. It also plans to introduce IELTS One Skill Retake in India soon, allowing candidates the option to retake a specific section of the test.
